iPhone - many disadvantages discovered !

Many folks who already have got an Apple's iPhone are disappointed with many disadvantages of this expensive gadget. As for me, I would be mostly disappointed by price of iPhone... But lets see what people say :

1. iPhone's sold are locked to AT&T and it's price with AT&T contract stuff may vary from $1500 to $1900. Besides now you're a slave to AT&T with your phone.

2. Japan and some other asian countries are already enjoying devices with many more features and for much lower price. But lets forget japanese... since we are not in Japan, we may skip this...

3. Internet/EDGE works much slower than as it had been present in adverts, YouTube works rather slow....

4. You can't detach the battery.

5. Glass display may be broken if the phone falls down (I had my N73 Nokia fell down many times and from various heights - it still works great and nothing happened to it's case or screen)

6. Sensor keyboard is not comfortable. (I guess! Specially if you are using a stilo - When using NORMAL phone you have one hand busy with it, when using stilo - both of your hands are busy)

7. Sending of MMS is not supported.

8. Camera makes photos of not so great quality, it Can't record video! (Almost all GSM photos with cams can record video, even the oldest ones!)

9. Not enough support for flash sites.

10. 3G is not supported.

11. You can't save documents on the phone, you can only view them!

12. iPhone is not that compact as it looks in advertising presentations.

Those are the most important disadvantages of iPhone. There are others people are talking about, but these ones seemed most important for me.... Well... it looks like my Nokia is a great phone comparing to this device! And I've bought it for just about $300, not locked to any operator. To conclude this : I will NOT buy iPhone in a close range of time.
But if you are an Apple fan, I guess you will buy it anyway :) Let's see, maybe you will like it ;)

1. Add up the monthly fees you've paid on any phone for two years, these prices are actually quite competitive for unlimited data.

2. There are other American phones that can do the same things but not nearly as well: Fake internet, frustrating mp3 players, even touch screen. But they do not implement the features nearly as well;

3. The adverts clearly show the phone using WiFi, not Edge. The speed of Edge can vary from 30kbps- 200kbps.

4. This is true, though its covered under the warranty of the phone; if you get the extended warranty youre covered for two years. Plus, 8 hours of talk time, 7 hours of video playback, 6 hours of web browsing, 24 hours of music playback, and 250 hours of standby time is a lot more than most smart phones out there.

5. Check out this video: http://www.pcworld.com/video/id,545-page,1-bid,0/video.html#

6. A stylus wouldnt work with the phone, it only responds to a finger. It takes getting used to, but after a few days you can start typing quickly with just two thumbs. You have to learn to trust the phone's corrections.

7. True, though you can email photos.

8. The photos look better than any other camera phone I've seen; also, they could potentially add video capture in a software update. They designed the phone so that theyre not restricted by the buttons it ships with; Your Nokia has the same software on it since you got it.

9. Flash isn't supported so as not to drain the battery too quickly; They're having YouTube convert all their videos to the (better compressed) H.264 MPEG4 format so as to take advantage of the phone's existing hardware.

10. 3G coverage is so limited, the chipsets are so large and battery-consuming that it would not be worth it yet.

11. There are web apps such as gOffice that allow you to write Word-compatible documents and email them to yourself. In fact, http://www.iphoneappr.com/ has many iPhone web applications that take advantage of its Web 2.0 capabilities.

12. he phone is actually quite thin; it fits in a pocket very nicely. Perhaps the large, high resolution screen makes you think the phone is larger than it is.

Have you even tried the iPhone out? Go to an Apple Store and hold one in your hand. The main reason why the iPhone is so much better than other phones out there is the implementation. It makes all of the things that it does easy, intuitive, and dare I say fun. I can't remember the last time I've been anything but frustrated with a cell phone. That alone is worth a lot.

Hey retard, your points are pretty much all invalid.

1. Very competitive prices for unlimited internet and SMS.

2. Please show me a product designed better with more features.

3. In adverts the iPhone is using WiFi retard.

4. Valid point (your first, congrats!)

5. Not really. Websites have dropped it and even attempted to purposefully scratch it with a key, and no marks whatsoever. Your phone could have the same thing happen just as easily, if not easier because the iPhone uses very hard glass.

6. You don't know that, because you haven't used one. Also YOU ARE A FUCKING IDIOT. The iPhone doesnt use a stilus. In fact, it won't respond to a touch from a stilus. I find it very comfortable.

7. Your 2nd valid point out of 7.

8. Semi-valid. Yeah, it can't record video, but it still has good quality images (in good lighting, as with any camera). 2MP camera is better than a lot of others.

9. Very few phones support Flash. Drains battery very quickly, which is a huge downside.

10. Right now 3G wastes battery quickly and is not well-developed on AT&T's network. Plus it would not have allowed for the design that is in the current iPhone.

11. Are you really going to want to try to write a Word Document on a little phone?

12. You are a retard. That is an opinion and is false according to most people.

So, gj. 2.5 valid points out of 12. Do some fucking research next time and think before you speak.
